  • Purity of recombinant human IL-11 was determined by SDS- polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The protein was resolved in an SDS- polyacrylamide gel in reducing and non-reducing conditions and stained using Coomassie blue.

Reconstitution Briefly centrifuge the vial before opening. It is recommended to reconstitute the protein to 0.2 mg/mL in sterile 1x PBS pH 7.4 containing 0.1% endotoxin-free recombinant human serum albumin (HSA). Gently swirl or tap vial to mix.

Background

Interleukin-11 (IL-11) is a member of the IL-6 family of cytokines. It is a pleiotropic cytokine that contributes to hematopoiesis, bone development, tissue remodeling, and tumor development. IL-11 binds with its receptor (IL-11RA), which is widely expressed on stromal cells including fibroblasts, smooth muscle cells, and adipocytes. It is thought to be a driver of pulmonary and dermal fibrosis. Upregulation of IL-11 has been linked to rheumatoid arthritis, ulcerative colitis, and Crohn’s disease.
