背景介绍
Cadherins are a family of transmembrane glycoproteins that mediate calcium-dependent cell-cell adhesion and play an important role in the maintenance of normal tissue architecture. Cadherin-11 (CDH11), also known osteoblast cadherin (OB-cadherin) or OSF-4, was identified initially in a mouse osteoblastic cell line and human osteosarcoma (PMID: 8163513). Cadherin-11 is a single pass transmembrane protein consisting of an extracellular domain which contains five repeat sequences (EC1-EC5), a transmembrane segment and a cytoplasmic domain which links catenins to the actin and microtubule cytoskeleton (PMID: 8163513; 33442417). It has been shown that cadherin-11 plays important roles in the occurrence and development of a lot of diseases, arthritis, cancer, aortic calcification disease, dermatosis (PMID: 33442417).
