背景介绍
Dysadherin, also known as FXYD5 (FXYD domain containing ion transport regulator 5),
is a cancer-associated cell membrane glycoprotein which belongs to the FXYD family.
The FXYD family, which contains seven members, are tissue specific regulators of the
Na,K-ATPase. Dysadherin is involved in down-regulation of E-cadherin, which plays
important roles in tumor development and metastasis. It is present in spleen, lung,
skeletal muscle, and testis. Increased expression of dysadherin has been associated
with increased cell motility and metastatic potential.
