背景介绍
IYD(Iodotyrosine dehalogenase 1) is also named as C6orf71, DEHAL1 and belongs to the nitroreductase family. It is a transmembrane protein that deiodinates mono-and di-iodotyrosines (MIT, DIT) and recycles iodine, a scarce element in the environment, for the efficient synthesis of thyroid hormone. This protein has 6 isoforms produced by alternative splicing.
