背景介绍

Malonyl-CoA-acyl carrier protein transacylase (MCAT), also known as MT, is an enzyme involved in mitochondrial fatty acid synthesis (mtFAS) and catalyzes the transfer of the malonyl moiety of malonyl-CoA to the mitochondrial acyl carrier protein (ACP) (PMID: 36881526). It has four coding exons and is transcribed into two isoforms by the alternative splicing of exon 3 (PMID: 33918393).
