Product Information
KE10029 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The Mouse CTLA4 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous mouse CTLA4. The assay recognizes mouse CTLA4. An antibody specific for mouse CTLA4 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The mouse CTLA4 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another antibody of biotinylated specific for mouse CTLA4 is added to detect the captured mouse CTLA4 protein. For signal development, Streptavidin-HRP is added, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
CTLA-4, also known as CD152, belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily, is primarily found on activated T cells and regulatory T cells (Tregs). CTLA-4 is closely related to the T-cell costimulatory CD28, and both molecules bind to B7-1 and B7-2 on antigen-presenting cells. CTLA-4 acts as a negative regulatory molecule of T-cell responses. Besides the full-length transmembrane form, CTLA-4 also exists in a truncated soluble form (sCTLA-4).
